Beyond Downtown
![]()
There’s much more to enjoy in Bridgeport than just the downtown. The Park City is justly famous for its many parks—including two that were designed by Frederick Law Olmstead, designer of Central Park—and a variety of amenities and attractions. Here are just a few of the highlights:
Captain’s Cove
Captain’s Cove Seaport is one of Connecticut’s premier tourist
attractions and seaport complexes. Located on Historic Black Rock Harbor,
the complex is an active maritime and amusement center with boating slips,
seaport events, quaint boardwalk shops, harbor cruises, a waterside restaurant,
live entertainment and even a heliport!

Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo
The only zoo in Connecticut provides a wonderfully wild experience for
families, students and you! As an accredited member of the American Zoo
and Aquarium Association (AZA) and participant in its Species Survival
Plan (SSP), the Zoo is committed to the preservation of endangered animals
and are continually developing strategies that will protect species and
preserve their wild habitats. Open year-round and exhibiting almost 300
animals – including several endangered species such as tigers and
bears – the Zoo is a great place to spend the day (and to visit
often for our many special events).
